Dear Reader,
Chances are that in this day and age you have already heard how virtuous is being decisive, taking charge, especially if you’re a male. Let’s take a deep dive into this topic cause I disagree.
Basically, anytime you take a decision here and now there are very high chances that the decision is going to come from your conditioning, especially if there is some intense emotion accompanying it. If there is anger or fear around it is also going to influence the decision making process, negatively. I love to sleep over big and small decisions. If there is an emotion there, probably the next morning it’s gone or at least subside, sometimes it may even take a few days to get fully over it. I don’t believe in thinking things through as much as I do in making them with a clear mind, being able to fully access intuition, gut feeling. It’s also a great exercise to observe your first initial reaction and later on see what the final action one was, you’re going to be surprised. Yes, there are times when immediate action and decision are necessary but seriously how often? I remember when I started this with replying to the messages after some time of having them received. I realised that what I wrote after an hour was totally different from what would have been if this was an instant reply. Lately I had also fun to watch how anger was trying to affect the decision making. Based on David Hawkins map of consciousness when I would get angry about someone’s behavior the next step would be pride that would make me act in not letting be treated that way, and that would lead to courage and taking action. Unfortunately action would be already contaminated with anger and proud. Having observed it I’ve changed it as it was a very old pattern that used to be very helpful and now I’m moving straight into courage and take the right action that is free from anger nor pride.
