I’m relistening to the ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay. First exercise there is to create the list of all the ‘Shoulds/Shouldn’ts’ (for example. “I should be liked by everyone”) and then figure out why those statements have arisen. After looking at my list I figured there are basically three sources of those statements:
– parents
– society
– me (those come from the mix of the first two)
I recommend doing that kind of list and later if needed work with those statements using Byron Katie’s Inquiry www.thework.com
Result of working with these kind of statements is that they are not coming from you and that reality is perfect as it is here and now. It doesn’t mean that in the so called you cannot introduce changes
